Employee Asks for Federal Investigation at Apartment Complex

Posted on March 19th, 2010 No Comments

A former leasing agent for the Euless apartment complex is asking federal officials to investigate the apartment complex for possible violation of civil rights by denying apartments to possible tenants due to their race.

The 29-year-old woman filed a complaint with the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Department, claiming her employers told her to place Middle Eastern and Asian tenants in two buildings in the complex. She claims that her employers told them to turn Middle Eastern and Asian people away if  those two buildings were filled.

The owners of the complex have strongly denied the allegations and said that they do not discriminate against anyone.
