A Manhattan woman who claims to have been promoted to vice president at Goldman Sachs just two years after starting with the company sued the firm for discrimination. She claims the management demoted her when she returned from maternity leave, giving her no opportunity for pay increase or promotion.
She also claims the management fired her after her second maternity leave when she was about to resume office. She said they left her with no other option but to take the “mommy track.” Reports say that pregnancy discrimination has increased since the recession period. She says the management discriminated against her in these ways, falling prey to discrimination of woman in the workplace.
